The Black Hill (કાળો ડુંગર) _ Kutch

If you have come to Kutch along with this Ranotsav, then the same route of Ranotsav is 97 km away from Bhuj the capital of Kutch. And the nearest village is 27 km away from Khawda. The black hills of Kutch are also a place worth seeing. ❝Kala Dungar Kutchja (કાળા ડુંગર કચ્છજા)❞ Kala Dungar is the highest peak of Kutch with a height of 458 meters.

This is probably the only place where the 360 degree view of the Kutch desert can be seen. The place is close to the border with Pakistan and has a military base at the top. The Dattatreya temple, which is more than 200 years old, is located on Kala Dungar. So he gave part of his body to the fox herd to eat and after the winter ate it, Dattatreya's limbs started growing again. Because of this, for the last four hundred years, the temple priest has been offering cooked rice to the winter after the evening aarti.

Dattatreya Jayanti (Datta Jayanti) is celebrated here on the day of Magsar Sud Poonam with much fanfare. People from the surrounding villages pay homage to Guru Dattatreya there. There Prasad is placed on the Long Prasad Otala. Long (fox) comes to eat this padi prasad.
