The festival of Ganesh Chaturthi dates back to the Maratha reign, with Chatrapati Shivaji inaugurating the festival. This belief lays in the story of the birth of Ganesha, the son of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. Goddess Parvati was the creator of Ganapati. She, in the absence of Lord Shiva, created Ganesha using his sandalwood paste and placed it to protect him while she went for a bath. While she was gone Lord Shiva fought with Ganesha. Enraged, Lord Shiva cut off Ganesha's head. When Parvati saw this sight, she assumed the form of Goddess Kali and threatened to destroy the world. This worried everyone and they requested Lord Shiva to find a solution and appease the anger of Goddess Kali. Shiva then ordered all his followers to immediately go and find a child whose mother was careless towards her child and bring its head. The first baby seen by the followers was that of an elephant and they cut off its head and brought it to Lord Shiva as ordered. History Lord Shiva immediately placed his head on Ganesha's body and brought him back to life. Maa Kali's anger subsided and Goddess Parvati was overwhelmed once again. All are blessed by Lord Lord Ganesha and are celebrated today for the same reason.

Shri Gopalananda Swami stood in front of the idol with a stick resting on his beard and made a vow to manifest Hanumanji Maharaj in this idol and through the sign of Shriji in samadhioga, he invited Hanumanji to always appear in this idol. . As soon as Guru Gopalnandji Swami's command was given, Shri Ramdoot Hanumanji immediately appeared in this idol, along with which this idol started shaking. After the call of Sarva Sukhdata Swamiji, sitting in the idol, Marutinandan started laughing.

Swamishri requested Hanumanji Maharaj to remove the suffering of every human being who came to his feet. Shriji Maharaj bathed and drank water from the Ganga water well of this temple.

Kashtabhanjan was also anointed with water from this well. Shriji Maharaj has bathed many times along with many saints and devotees in Narayankund here. Crores of ghosts from humans, animals and birds are sent to the brine of this Narayan Kund, from where they are absolved.

The fame of Salangpur Sri Kastabhanjandev Hanuman Temple today spreads in all eight directions. Around two crore pilgrims come to this temple every year. Every Saturday, even under normal circumstances, 25,000 to 30,000 people flock to see Shri Hanumanjidada. This temple celebrates Aso Vad Pancham (Patotsava Day), Hanuman Jayanti, Kali Chaudash and all Hindu festivals with pomp.

The day of Shri Kastabhanjandev temple starts at 5:30 in the morning with Mangala Aarti. After six and a half to seven Balbhog, ten and a half to eleven Rajbhog. Darshan is closed from 12 noon to 3 p.m. Sandhya Aarti at sunset and bedtime at 9 pm. The sanctum sanctorum is managed by the Vadtal-based Sri Lakshminarayan Trust Board. The Kothariswamy of the temple has been appointed by this board itself.
