For the convenience of its users, UIDAI has come up an online tool that is available on its official website.

The “Aadhaar Authentication History” tool enables users to check Aadhaar Authentication online and avail various information including transaction ID, error code, method of authentication, Aadhaar authentication failure code, etc. Using this facility, users can find out when an agency would have accessed the biometric, demographic and one-time password.

The Aadhaar card is an identity number issued to every citizen in India and is a centralized and universal identity number. The Aadhaar card is a biometric document that is stored individually in a personal database and has quickly become the government's basis for public welfare and civil services.

Various uses of Aadhaar card are announced by the government through campaigns, the use of which is not known to many users. And often many Aadhaar card holders do not know where their Aadhaar card is being used.
 
As we all know, Aadhaar card is used as proof of identity, proof of address as well as proof of age while applying for any government service. Thus the Aadhaar card and the 12-digit unique identification number have been issued by UIDAI or the Unique Identification Officer of India.

These include bank accounts / PPF accounts, investments in small savings schemes and use of mobile number or SIM. UIDAI has provided a number of online tools on its website uidai.gov.in.

Such a tool enables base holders to check their authentication history. After opening the UIDAI website, you will see an option called 'Aadhaar Authentication History'. And after clicking it you will see a new window.
And thus this online tool enables Aadhaar holders to view their authentication details and access their Aadhaar authentication history (notifications) data. And apart from this the UIDAI tool displays information like date, time and authentication type in tabular format.

Then you have to state where you want the information from. And then clicking on OTP will see the OTP coming in the one with which your Aadhaar card is linked. And then just enter the OTP and click 'Submit' to proceed.

And so you will immediately see the details of that time limit. And if you find any problem in all this information about your Aadhaar card, you can complain to UIDAI by calling 12.

Thus UIDAI provides an online service to support this process. Apart from this, Aadhaar holders can also access the online transaction history tool through the UIDAI website. Thus the UIDAI tool shows the user the authentication date, time, type, ID and feedback along with other details.


It is advisable to check the Aadhaar authentication history at regular intervals to avoid any breach. Checking the Aadhaar authentication history via online mode is simple and can completed by following the steps below mentioned.

Step 1: Visit the UIDAI’s official website that is https://resident.uidai.gov.in/.




Step 2: Once you are on the UIDAI’s home page, select “Aadhar Authentication History” link under the Aadhaar Services column.

Step 3: Then it gets directed to a new page named Aadhaar Authentication History. You should enter the UID/ the 12-digit Aadhaar number.




Step 4: Enter the security code correctly in the respective box and click on “Generate OTP”.

Step 5: On the new page titled “Aadhaar Notification Setting”, select the “Authentication Type” by clicking on the drop down arrow.



Step 6: You should choose the start and end date from the calendar for which you want to check the history.

Step 7: Next, enter the number of records and the OTP in the respective box and click on “Submit” button.

Step 8: On completing these, UIDAI displays the history in a tabular format that includes date, time, type ID and authentication type among others.

Step 9: You can now cross-check the authentication of the information.

Documents Needed to Check the Aadhaar Authentication History Online
There are only two prerequisites for checking the authentication. It includes:

The 12-digit Aadhaar number
Aadhaar registered mobile number to receive the one-time password
